Get a dizzy and coil from a VC-VK (not EFI) or WB. Bolt it in with new leads and right plugs for the engine and head. Just have to bridge the pink and yellow wires at the ignition switch.
Given how old they are would be worth getting the dizzy rebuilt and get it graphed to suit your engine at the same time.
If you can’t get an original coil you have to buy an aftermarket one and make up a bracket for it.

Here you go

You can buy Chevy HEI ones (coil in cap) cheap too that you can change springs in yourself but they are cheap

Hi,
Over the last few years Iv'e tried the Chinese "Bosch"...no good, bearings flogged out super quickly.
Now using a Scorcher, which I bought out of Melbourne. Think they actually make them there. No issues, and good local tech. line.

Hi

I found a LC/LJ with a GTR dash and GTR tacko that the early VC/VB electronic ignition operated the tacko better than the later VK one would. The needle didn’t seen to jump around.

cheers

Get a dizzy and coil from a VC-VK (not EFI) or WB.

VK EFI had the same type of dissy as VC/VH/WB. It was the VK carby job that had the weirdo dissy with the pick-up off the flywheel.

The VK EFI dissy has stronger advance springs suited better to hi-comp.

I just was looking at the Scorcher today, and found this thread:

$400 for Dizzy and $95 for coil to 15,000rpm,

and they set it up to your engine spec's and fuel type  :spoton:

Correct, I should have typed (EFI) not (not EFI).

Wonder if the copy has the stronger advance spring as Rob suggests ?
