Does anyone know why the 1970 cars had this weird striping around the windscreen?

Were they having trouble with the screens moving? The sticker extends past the rubber and onto the paint.

Was it to do with the late sun at Bathurst?

I'm not sure about the windscreen but it looks like your snowed in.

Does anyone know why the 1971 Brock XU-1 model had a LJ drivers seat when the rest of the seats and interior are LC spec?

That’s what I was thinking. They did the same with the 1968 factory cars, different coloured stripes.

You can see the different designs on the Harvey, then Forbes, then Kaleda cars here.

So the pit crew could identify the car coming up the pit straight, so the right board could be shown.

Guessing back in those days they didnt have TV in every pit, and would have a look for the team car each lap based on its expected arrival time on pit straight.

Can remember some anxious looks from pit crews back then when the car didnt come along pit straight at around the right time.

Cheers

Rob
