Yes Anthony you are right they were both 1/72 cars and there is no paint tag on the 28c car in the pics but I think you will also find out that they were both Baroda silver cars as well,,, you say in this last pic car has the wrong chassis number ???
Fly when the car was restored in Brisbane I would say the restorer was so use to fixing Brisbane built cars he just bent the front guard lips over as with the paint tag missing in your last pic you can see were the rivet holes are, just 1 more question for you Fly in one of your other pics of 28c inside the car on the dash looking in the window screen under the wipe arm you can see something that could be said to be a paint tag ??? Was it ???

Gong, its been around 15 years since I last saw this car. It did have a paint tag in the glovebox from an early car. From memory it also had a ADR tag off a 8/72 car..........

After Colin Bond rolled his 1/72 chassis at Bathurst in October 1972, it was replaced with a 8/72 chassis ( LGN-347 ). I believe the damaged 1/72 chassis was scrapped. Colin Bond went on to complete the rest of the 1972 season and most of the 1973 season in this car.

LGN-347 at Bathurst in October 1973, in November 1973 it was involved in a car accident on its way up to Surfers Paradise.

After the accident in November 1973, LGN-347 was replaced with a October 1973 chassis, Prime body ( Daryl Caine's old car )
This car went on to compete in the 1974 season prior to HDT receiving their new LH SLR 5000 L34's.

Yes I seen that re shelled 24c car in the flesh, spent a night and day with DC in Adelaide just a few weeks before his death, there is a great story that goes with how I meet this man too (god bless).
Man I'm more keen to find out more about 28c.

On the Shepparton trailer crash version of 24C, it was bought from HDT by Wayne Mahnken (funnily enough a close mate of dad's from his racing days in Tassie) and Wayne did a short rear cut to it and built a Sports Sedan out of it. After he sold it, it had a big racing accident with the new owner and is apparently in landfill in a Sydney tip.

Some chassis numbers would spice things up a bit
Something like ALJ004##A, they dont have to be complete......
