HI All,

I have the pieces for a hydraulic clutch conversion and only missing the Tab like the on in the pic.

Does anyone know the length of the weld on tab for the pedal pushrod and the angle on the end ?

Trying to make one and need be in the ballpark.

Cheers , Archie

Without knowing all the other pieces of the puzzle its anyone's guess, I'd only copy someone else if they have the exact same components end to end. Better to just do your maths, start with how much travel you need for clutch release (at the fork if you're using one, or thrust bearing if that's the slave), multiply by the area ratio between master and slave, then you know how much stroke you need at the master.

Is it a CRS one?

definitely need more info on what type it is .

the one i have for my lj works like a brake pedal so you dont need to know the tab length , probably the shorter the better for tab . how far down the pedal would make the ratio.

a  under dash master would be a different story as it works off the top of pedal after the pivot point

Thanks for the replies. I should have added more info.

The bracket is CRS the master cyl is PBR P5490, the the Slave is Protex AS23

The P5490 has about 35mm of push travel and if I measure the pedal travel and do the math, I calculate about 45mm from the weld to the pushrod hole.

This equates to 60mm from pivot.

My questions are , should I be using the the full travel of the pedal for this calculation  and how does my measurement of the tab 45mm compare to the to

the CRS tab?

Cheers, Archie.

I recognise those components as stock FE to EK slave and master. If you want I can measure clutch fork and pedal travel in my car, as well as pivot distances etc.

I ran this setup on m20 in my EK for many miles. Great clutch setup.

I had the same Mcyl and Slave in V8 Torana back  30 years ago, but the bracket I had then was a Dellow cast alloy

so not sure how long the tab should be.

I also never had an issue with it either.

I have temporarily tack welded my first test Tab and seems Ok , but if its not difficult to measure , I will accept any info.

Thanks

Just an update.

I finished installing the hydraulic setup but the pedal was just as heavy as the factory cable /lever setup. which was

20-21 kg of leg press at it highest reading.  So, not how I remember this conversion being better all those years ago.

I didn't want to go full cable setup because I wasn't prepared to pull the gearbox and change bell housing, thrust bearing etc.

So then I reinstalled the factory cable/lever  setup back  , however this time I replaced the lever with one I made and

using bearings for the pivot, instead of the factory bushing. The geometry was the same just added bearings

Amazingly it  took 2-2.5Kg off the pedal press at its peak and feels whole lot lighter overall.
