Coupe202: Nah mate, you're way ahead of some of us. I've got one car pulled to bits with the motor in it, ready for undercoat and still hasn't got all the running gear I need for a good ET, need more $$$$ (still need Auto trick kit, stall converter, 3.45:1 gears, slicks, etc etc)
And I've got annother car as a rolling shell with wild running gear all outside the car which I haven't assembled yet because I don't have all the 'little' bits and pieces yet or the time to do it.

If I get one car ready it'll be a good effort and a lot of night hours. If I get both cars ready, it'll be a miracle.

I think, after reading some of the comments that other people have made, we're not the only ones.

OK, How about we start meeting from 7:00am & depart around 8:00am.
This will get us their around 9:00 - 9:30 i guess.
Just need someone with a video camera to go ahead onto say the new Thomastown section a few minutes before us, i unfortunately do not have a video, any offers?

I like the idea of meeting at Kmart .... I'd take the video, but I don't have a digital Video cam...if anyone can make a copy to go onto CD from a Hi8, I'll do it. No wuckers.

So lets get an idea of those wishing to meet at Kmart (cnr. Mahoney's Rd and Sydney Rd, (Hume Hwy)) at say 7:00am for a 8:00am departure and the early birds can chew the fat.
A convoy of Torrys is always a good thing. 10-4, come back rubber ducky....

It's not a doctors appointment, dont panic, only need to be their when we leave. hopefully all together & any straglers can jump on the back as they catch up.
The good thing about travelling together, is if someone has problems, their will be plenty of help, i'm sure.

If we need to leave by 8:00, then aim for no later than 7:30.... just in case, then if there's a problem, there's plenty of time to sort it out.
You always end up having a friendly chin wag anyway.

Looking forward to a cruise and a drag day!
C'mon folks, who's in?

coupe202 - how is your progress coming along mate? Would be totally unreal to see your car race, really hope you make it. Have you changed your combo since last time you raced it? What's your P.B. to date??

PS. I probably won't make it to the official cruise there - I always drive out the back way through Yarra Glen, Yea, Seymour etc. Love the drive, it's awesome, and it's the only way I actually know off the top of my head. If my car does make it (fingers crossed), I would also prefer to drive this way as it will be a very fresh engine still, don't want to just sit on the Hume at constant speed for all that time. If I go my way, I'll be able to vary revs more through corners etc. Will see what happens....

Spoke to my engine builder yesterday, bottom end is finished and back together. The rest is very close too. We're both crossing our fingers to have it finished by the weekend. I want to pick it up Sat morning, will start praying to engine gods now....

So where do you join the Highway LXCHEV? Is it somewhere near Kilmore? If so, we could all meet there and cruise from Kilmore to Heathcote........
just a thought..

That could be a goer. What time you planning on crusing back on sat nite? I have a friends engagement party on that nite at 7pm back in Melbourne, so i plan to be back for that.

The day ends at 4:00, so should be on the road by 4:30 i suppose, back in Melb by about 6:00. Dont see a problem with your 7:00 party.

Hey everyone.. Just home from overseas... Ive now gotto check out the finances! Get a tow kit installed on teh fraud... and get organised to come down! ( Get my diff ratio changed and hopefully puyt the demon carb on! see how it all goes!)

I think a cruise is a top idea.. i'm staying in town that night so wont be able to attend the cruise, but thats no big deal :) It'll be great to see everyone there!

I'll check the confirmations theread, and my spreadsheet and post up a list of eveyone confirmed shortly... Time to start inviting mates too! Lets get our friends out to have some fun and race against some torries!

Sounds like everyone is having the normal thrash to get their cars ready! Brett: How's it coming along mate?

Cheers everyone!

Tiny.

So meet near the main entrerance to Kmart @ 7.00 AM, not near one of the other shops in that centre? I'll be bringing a cheesecake and a couple of bottles of non-alcoholic drinks in the esky to the track. Anybody else bringing something to share? After reading some of the other comments, I thank God I've had two cars registered and ready for 4 months. No, neither of my UC's will be there. This latest project of mine has gotten in the way big time.
