So lets get an idea of those wishing to meet at Kmart (cnr. Mahoney's Rd and Sydney Rd, (Hume Hwy)) at say 7:00am for a 8:00am departure and the early birds can chew the fat.
A convoy of Torrys is always a good thing. 10-4, come back rubber ducky....

So meet near the main entrerance to Kmart @ 7.00 AM, not near one of the other shops in that centre? I'll be bringing a cheesecake and a couple of bottles of non-alcoholic drinks in the esky to the track. Anybody else bringing something to share? After reading some of the other comments, I thank God I've had two cars registered and ready for 4 months. No, neither of my UC's will be there. This latest project of mine has gotten in the way big time.

I think on the West side of the car park, closest to Sydney road, we have to go back out on Sydney Rd to access the Ring Rd to get to the new bypass.
It's only from 7:00am with the intention to leave at 8:00.
If you get their at 7:55, the only thing you will miss is the early morning BullS@#t session and McDonalds for breaky :spit:

No problem. I won't guarentee 7.00 AM sharp, but I shouldn't be too far off that. Look out for a white Mazda E1800 van.

Tiny - from your list above:

10. LX406 - has he definitely confirmed he is racing? His HG is way off still, unless he said he'll race his daily??

11. ultrabluea9x - confirmed? now that the beast is up for sale?

23. Guns n Roses - confirmed? pretty sure he was coming to spectate only?

As for my progress - didn't get my engine back last week as planned. Will have it this week though. If I don't hit any problems with re-installation, break-in, and dyno-tuning, I will race it as along as I've got 500km's clocked up. Might just keep my gear changes down a bit though. If I don't make it, will be racing the hatchback instead. But don't see why the chev shouldn't make it. Even went and bought a brand new pair of Mickey Thompson ET Streets on the weekend.

Should we open this day up to other forums?? Perhaps aussiev8 or racerite? Only reason I say that is to make sure we meet our 30 minimum cars. There are A LOT of maybe's at the moment and cars that are not ready. There would be nothing worse than rocking up to find only 10 entrants...

PS. Deb and I noticed something interesting on a flyer the other day. The day after our forum drag day (Sunday 19th), is the Drag Magazine Nostalgia Drags also up at Heathcote. I know we originally had the Sunday in mind as a rainout day just in case our Saturday got wrecked. Back then I believe it was just a general Test + Tune day on the Sunday, but looks like Drags magazine has now officially booked the day. Could be worth a look on the Sunday anyway I reckon! Since we're staying Sat night, if I don't break the car I might be tempted to race at the Nostalgia drags too! The cut-off is 1978 (unlike 1975 for the Cruizin magazine nostalgia series), so I now make the cut! (Just about every Torana would!)

Just something to keep in mind anyway....

Yeah i think i fixed my prob with my car, had to take out the gearbox and take off the extension housing to fix reverse, now just having a minor issue with the shifter, but that should be sweet and tim is FINALLY delivering my carby next week too! HIP HIP HORAY!!

Ill ask one of my mates if he wants to come up in his 78 lancer, with a 2.6litre Galant engine in it! (it goes hard and beat my old torry :() But not this new stroker!

My car will be there if nothing major goes wrong! touch wood....

Sounds good, how about the K-mart Tyre and Auto car park, it's right on Sydney Rd and will give good exposure to passing traffic too! :D
Enter via the traffic lights heading north along Sydney Rd, can't miss it then.

Brett: I'm more than happy top open it up to AussieV8 forum ( Ive not heard of racerite), and i'll also ask my mate to invite some good guys from the Aussie ford forums too... Its defintiely time to invite as many as possible so that we fill the quota! We dont want to look like idiots now that weve booked the day with heathcote!!

I'll PM the members you listed above to see how things are progressing.. thats a good idea, I'm just starting to get back into the swing of it at home since returning from overseas, so i'll try and make it happen now!

Cheers everyone.
I'm off to organise the tow pack to get the monaro down!!

Cheers!

Cool stuff. By the way, welcome back Tiny!

I did receive an email from ultrabluea9x last night, he said if the A9X hasn't been sold he will race it at Heathcote (as long as the quad's are tuned up properly by then), or failing that he will race his red beast.

knoath - as for where we meet the highway, I will have to dig out the melways and have a good look to see if we can potentially meet up somewhere! Will keep in touch about this. A convoy would rock!

What happens if we don't get 30 cars? Is there a financial penalty?

Sounds like a plan to me, go and hang around Sydney rd at 7:00am on a Saturday morning and expose myself to the passing traffic with a bunch of people who enjoy Torana's, see you all their! :spoton:

I live around 800 metres from Heath, so it would be a bit closer for me than you John. ATM, I have two vacant seats heading to Heathcote.
