Well, sorry to screw you round guys but I'm letting you know that I will be able to chuck the brumby down the 1/4 after all. I may also have my brother in his RX3 coming as well, that will be confirmed tomorrow hopefully.

Good luck with the monaro Tiny. I was really hoping to see it, but it just means when I finally do see it, it will be that much sweeter.

Glenn: Absolutely Spewing mate, I was really looking forward to putting a face to the name! Next time for sure.

Svenikus: Great to hear that your able to race mate! Bring along as many mates as you like the more the merrier! Thanks for the thoughts too.. I'm shattered at not being able to race...

But it'll still be great to catch up with everyone there.
Cheers.

What a long weekend this has just been. Good and bad news on my front; got the engine back Thursday night. It was in the car by Friday night. Spent all Saturday and Sunday flat out doing a whole heap of things. Fired her up Sunday evening - what a day to break a cam in being 38 degree's! But happy to report it was a textbook break-in, good oil pressure, good engine temp, had it going for 19 minutes when suddenly she stopped. No fuel. Plenty in the tank, so I think it was some kind of vapour-lock thing happening.

Anyway, 19 minutes was good enough to break cam in. After letting it all cool back down again for a couple of hours, fuel was pumping through again fine, so took her for her first cruise Sunday night with Deb and some mates for an hour or so. The trans temp was running REALLY hot all night, but engine temp never went over 180F.

ANYWAY, I now have a fuel leak from the rear - the marine style fuel filter block is pissing fuel out. Had it all in a thousand pieces today, no matter what I do I can't get rid of this leak. Today was meant to be "cruise day" to get a good couple of hundred km's on the clock, but we never left the driveway. Very frustrating. I'm far too busy at work all this week now, so can't even imagine trying to find the time to fix the problem, let alone get 500km's on the clock in 2 days when I was booked in for dyno tune. I just can't see it happening. Plus I want to fit a bigger trans cooler after watching the gauge going so high. I'm just knackered from rushing everything so much. I think I'm going to be racing the hatchback instead. If I could take the time off work I would, but it ain't gonna happen this week. I just need ONE MORE WEEK!!!!!!!!!!

Damnit mate :( there's always something!!

i hope you can get it sorted, but i know how you feel! Dont risk it just for a drag day... anyway at least you have someting COOL to drag!

:( I'm pissed right off with my car.. i can imagine you are too after all this stress and work! Will be good to catch up anyhow.. i think saturday night at the hotel will be a pissup to drown our sorrows!

Cheers!

I too would like to know how many are racing this Sat? It looks like a few are dropping out. Remember we need 30 cars MINIMUM. I would rather cancel the day than rock up with only 15 or so! Everyone who is an absolute DEFINITE with a car that is READY to go (no maybe's, because there's no time left now), please confirm you will be there on Sat...

Perhaps we could get everyone to please copy and paste this list below, adding themselves to it? (ONLY FIRM CONFIRMATIONS). Or will that make this thread go too out of control? Tiny, what do you think mate?

RACING SATURDAY:
1. LXCHEV (Brett) - LX Hatchback

I'll be taking the TORRY, an LX Sedan, stock 308, TH400, 3.08:1 gears BW LSD, no flares or rear spoiler. It's an ongoing project that me and some of the Goon Squad recently did the A-Team on, and painted it up similar to an L34 in Mandarin red, in 4 days. It's no longer Contessa Gold (poo brown). Many thanks go out to John (TORANASS), Jason and Mick. I will post details and pictures in the Members Projects area later.

I'll be taking it to Heathcote this Saturday and I'll be aiming at a flat 14.0sec, which I would be very happy with. But if I break into the 13's I'll be ecstatic.

So I add to the list:

RACING SATURDAY:
1. LXCHEV (Brett) - LX Hatchback
2. 253ToranaSS (Matt) - LX Hatchback
3. TORANR AMORE (Rick) - LX Sedan

PS.
253ToranaSS: Mat, I also have a carbie you can borrow, a quaddy.

Great idea Brett... if we dont get around the 30 in here then it may be worth cancelling.. it would be terrible to rock up with very few cars.. we would have egg on our faces!
I would rather NOT cancel cause i reckon the day's going to be great, and weve got accomodation booked too! So Cmon guys.. we need 100% annswers!

I need to know too guys as i'm driving down on the friday morning, so it's going to cost me a fair bit!

ANyhow.. Lets get these numbers up!

Thats not good at all! I have tried asking all my mates, but the prob is they all have shit cars and would never even consider racing them! Plus they are all poor and cant afford the Drive up!

How come anyone hasnt Spammed the General Discussion yet? Some people might not even look in this section!

Not bad, 10 firm confirmation already in one afternoon. Need a lot more though....

My mate is also 80% to race, will confirm soon.

As for inviting the others, go for it Tiny! The more cars the better. Trust me, small numbers will mean a boring, slow day. We want lots of cars, lots of passes all day, it keeps it interesting for everyone involved, especially the spectators!

I would also hate to cancel this day, I've been looking forward to it for so long, so let's get these numbers confirmed!
