ACCOMODATION IS ON HOLD FOR OUR MEMBERS:

Ive spoken with Jenny at the Tea House Motor Inn, and she has Very Kindly put some rooms on hold for our members till the 20th feb.

The Commonwealth games are on and everywhere is booking up fast, so we had to take what we could get. Unfortunately we couldnt get rooms side by side, but the best avilable was as follows:

4x Single rooms in the 3.5* area : $86 Per Night (single person), $95 for Two people.
2x Deluxe Rooms :$89 Per Night. (Single Person), $103 for Two people.

They are aware there will be a few cars with trailers, so there is some tralier parking avilable too.

To the best of my Knowledge there is only 1 more delux room available as Southo and Sway have taken one of the above rooms. ( Gotto look after our Photographers!!)

Youve gotto get in FAST people they dont have many other rooms at all.

When booking tell them your booking for the Torana Drag Day, they'll know which rooms are on hold for us!

Better get off my arse and do something then! Do u need to leave a deposit or anything over the phone? Or just pay it all once u get there, if i need a deposit ill have to get mum to pay it on her credit card (HEHE)

To the best of my Knowledge you dont need a deposit, You'll ned to give them your name and address... so they will hunt you down ( Or i will!) if you dont show and you have booked a room hehehe

Definitely DO it mate! Tim'es ticking and spaces are short for accomodation!

Deb and I are officially booked in for the Sat night, may stay Fri night too, but not sure yet. Tiny, our room is right next to yours!

Matty - All I had to do was leave my credit card details with her - however nothing will be charged until that actual weekend.

Come on everyone else too - it's time we all get into gear now and turn this into a great fun day or weekend! Would be good to see a few more people add themselves to the Confirmations thread. Remember, we have officially booked the track for the day, and now we need a minimum of 30 cars to rock up. How good would it be to see 40 or more actual FORUM MEMBERS there, plus our mates!!! Come on everyone, talk yourself into it and lock it in!

I didn't get the chance to call today, i hope there is stilla room free ill be on the on the phone FIRST thing! Ive finally got round to sendin off my spec sheet to tce and ive told them to go ahead with buildin my stall So all goin well lookin like ill have my hatch there!!

Bugger! and to those who may only be coming up for the day anyway, I'm sure the hotel wont mind if some of us go back to the hotel to have a BBQ dinner ( seeing our drags finish at 4Pm i think!?) and shoot the breeze for a while!

Were going to have to organise some meat and drinks for back at the hotel.. I'll be bringing an eskie i think!

Stedz - dude you gotta come up! What's come up suddenly? Even if you can't stay the night, would be awesome if you can still make it for the day, I'm looking forward to seeing the car of yours and finally meeting up. Plus we really need people like yourself to make it in order to boost our numbers.

Chopper - sounds good too. Will be good to meet you finally as well.

As Tiny said earlier, I'll be bringing an esky too! (Keen to have a few beers alongside 253ToranaSS, gotta teach that boy how to drink, hehehe)...

Ok, have confirmed a few of the exact details with Heathcote:

GMH Torana Forum Drag Day, Heathcote Raceway, Vic
Saturday 18th March 2006

Gates Open: 9am
Racing from: 11am
Ends approx: 4pm
Lunch Break: from 1:30pm - 2pm

If we do the D.Y.O, this is usually after lunch. Once that is finished, more grudge runs until 4pm. Heathcote will supply 2 trophies for us for the D.Y.O.

If we use the burnout pad, they usually do this just after lunch. I reckon this would probably work better right at the end of the day? Otherwise people will be swapping wheels back and forth too much etc. Hmm, not sure.... can work that out later anyway.

PRICES:
To race: $40
Spectators: $10
Extra Drivers/Passengers: extra $5 on top of spectator price

Canteen WILL BE OPEN with hot food etc.

Helmets can be loaned at no charge for anyone without their own.

Also guys i got some AWESOME NEWS!

Im picking up a 253 Stroker Tomorrow to put in my car! i was planning on having my engine out and puting a gasket kit thru it, but now i will take the engine out and replace it with a Stroker! 14 Seconds here i come!

Once i get the engine ill give some more specs on it! Im pumped as! best thing is im pretty much swapping my 253 for it! Its Awesome!

I dunno if anyone would be interested but 28 Days are playing at a pub in bendigo the friday before (17th) the drag day. tickets are $15, if anyone wants to go, I can buy tickets from the pub (its actually called The Pub!) I am going anyway.

Now Matty - what's all this about this new engine of yours?? Do we get to hear all about it yet or not? I think you better go and start a new thread right now and spill the beans! It's just a shame you've never run your current 253 down the 1/4 cos it would have been good to compare them.

makka - great to see you've got some mates coming too in the confirmation thread. How are you looking to have your beast finished in time? Not sure if we'll be there for the Friday night at this stage...

PS. Update on my engine - ripped it out on Sat, it's off to the engine builder's this week, will be all finished and back in the car in a couple of weeks. Hopefully it's back better than ever! I'm getting excited now!

Chopper - Deb's EH is very unlikely to make an appearance. It is currently off the road, awaiting it's new fuel system (which will fix it's recent problems of breaking down all the time). She is hoping to make the following weekend (Eastside Cruisers drag day, also at Heathcote), and then the following weekend is the Girl Torque Drag Day (girls only) which she has her heart set on. How's that - 3 weekends in a row to Heathcote! If I wanted to make it 4 in a row, we could also go to the Rev Head Rubberfest the weekend prior! But 3 is going to kill us as it is.

Tiny - the list is starting to look good. If we could double that (or more) I think we'll be laughing! Remember everyone, if we get 50 entrants or more on the day, we will get back money ($10 per car, so 50 cars would mean $500 back) - we could do all sorts of things for the forums with that cash! It would be much better to have HEAPS of cars than not enough cars.

Oh yeah, Chopper, don't worry, my beast will be there! If not, I could always race the hatchback, but I will be doing everything in my power to make sure lxchev is there!

Tiny - just another thought - perhaps it's time to chase up anyone else on your original list and remind them to check in with the confirmation thread? People like ultrabluea9x etc - hope he's still able to attend!
