Looks like 2021 Bathurst 1000 will be run on the 2-5th December.

There’s been further updates since that article - last I saw they’re now promoting 6 days of on-track racing - starting from Nov 30 and wrapping up on Dec 5. Looking forward to it after such a lack of V8 racing. I’ve actually got back into Formula 1 this year (sucked it up and subscribed to Kayo which has been excellent). The F1 season has been an absolute cracker, best in years.

Let’s hope we get a really exciting Bathurst this year. As always, I’ll be supporting all the underdogs and hoping for a surprise result.

As much as I would love to come over for it, the two weeks quarantine on the way home rules it out unfortunately.

Yeah Laurie, I'm not a category lover, but to me they seem to fill the same space as S/ Cars...for a 1/4:of the cost?.

The S5000 open wheeler V8s are my pick at this Bathurst event.

I saw one go around the track at Adelaide Motorsport Festival a few years ago. Loud, fast and a bit loose.

I reckon a full grid should be pretty entertaining.

Cheers,

Liz

Are you staying at the on track accommodation Liz? I've always wondered what a room with a view would be worth.

I've seem to remember being told that a standard Bathurst 4 night package is $8500 but I have not stayed there at all. This year's 6 day Bathurst event would be who knows how much. Over 10K?! That's a lot of car parts I might need instead.

I did have a few nights booked for the 6 hour scheduled for last year, then rescheduled for early this year, then cancelled. I'm curious as to how good it would be to have a room overlooking. the track, don't think I'll ever get one though.

Cheers,

Liz :)

Hi, I have stayed at the Rydges on Conrod a few times ( 2016 and 2017 when running in the Challenge Bathurst events).
At that time it was nothing siper exy, maybe $290 p/n??.
Just for a laugh, I did ask at reception regarding the October werkend...nuh...fully booked year on year by teams and media etc, and as Liz said, maybe 5 or 6k for the weeked, back then.

Having said that, it is unreal to just leave your track car and tools, tyres etc locked up in Pit Straight garage, and just wander over for a shower and snooze.
Downside - its a l o n g walk home from the pub of an evening.

Which Super 2 car? I might try to pop over and say G’day.

Cheers,

Liz
