Hi my lj gtr has a trim code of  58x which is doeskin and chestnut.                                                                                                                                                             MY question is what parts of the interior will be doeskin and                                                                                                                                                                     what would be chestnut.

That should have said what parts would be doeskin and what would have been chestnut.

Rodney, this is how the lower instrument panel should be painted out for X coded trim.

This one is 41X 'Saddle'

Wasn't Scooter's trim, the same as Rodney's, Dave ?

Come to think of it you are probably correct Gary. I had forgotten about Scooter's XU1.

Hey Dave , i just noticed a bit of the old headlining inside the rear pillar and it appears to be the chestnut colour, i also found the door opening pinchwelds which also appear to be chestnut in colour, could the 58x trim be ordered in a different configuration to what you have listed above ?

According to the trim code information in Torana Tough only Trim codes 59X and 59Y (Chestnut) in 82911 had Chestnut headliner and Chestnut pinchweld.

If RPO XU3 - neutral headliner was exercised on 59X and 59Y trims the headliner, sunvisors and coat hooks changed from Chestnut to Doeskin.

Believe all of what you see & half of what you read. It's not a book I'd rely on.

Hi Gary, there were people that contributed varying amounts of crap to the book but the trim code info, whilst it may contain some compilation errors, was drawn from actual GMH trim charts and documentation.

Thanks Dave , i guess i will never know what was done to change the trim previously, the car has been off the road since the early 90's and had bugger all interior when i got it. i think i will go with what you have told me.
