Hi all,
I got my choke all sorted now for the SU's which worked out well, started up a few times now with the choke and it's instantly alive! http://www.gmh-toran...triple-hs6-sus/
The previous owner welded up the firewall hole for the choke cable, so at the moment I just have the choke cable coiled in the engine bay. I have a rough idea where the hole should be re-drilled, so I can route the choke cable through the switch panel. What I am not sure of is how many mm the hole should be and which is the correct firewall grommet for the choke cable. I figure if I can find out which is the correct grommet I can measure it and drill the appropriate sized hole.
I grabbed the grommet kit image from the Rares site as below. Does anyone know if the choke cable grommet for the LC/LJ is the one that I underlined red or the one I underlined in green?
I still have the one underlined in red in the box and used most of the others during the resto, so I'm guessing it's the one. The cable seems to fit nice and snug, but putting the vernier on the grommet indent and its just on 20mm. Seems like a mega massive hole for a little skinny choke cable, which has put me in doubt that it's correct.
