1st 200 cars homoligated with 3.36 and 3.08 centres
The first 200 " BASICALLY IDENTICAL " 1971 CK's were fitted with the 3.36 diff ratio.

Personally, I still much prefer the 1972 version as it tends to simplify things. " Fit 1 ratio to 200 cars & 100 for the other " Much, much simpler to understand.........

Quote "Now all you need to do is explain why they were required to build a minimum of 300......"
I don't NEED to explain anything to you.

What this tells me is that there was a required minimum.
If they only built the required minimum, then half of them had to have one of the ratios.
If they produced more than the minimum, then they still only had to have the same number of cars with one of the ratios.
If the minimum was 200, then 100 would have to have the alternative ratio.
If they produced 300, then they still only needed 100 of the alternative ratio.

Thought it would have been understood that the number was just a number, not referencing any particular requirements.
The numbers I used were just example numbers.
Change them to 20 and 10 if you want, the intent is the same.
Cheers

s pack hi as far as I was told all lj xu1 toranas came out with the 3.36 lsd it is possible that country xu1 cars had the dealers to fit the 3.08 lsd for highway travelling

spoke to two drivers of the day in XU1,s today and told this also noted in log books although some of the books ratios inc LC are noted as VARIOUS .
LCXU1 3.36 and 3.08 ratios were the only ratios homologated
LJXU1 3.90 , 3.55 and 2.78 added ratios were homologated in January 1972 commencement of the LJ
Interesting to note these 72 LJ,s were delivered to some race drivers in Nov Dec 1971 but had to be kept under wraps .

thats right Shaun..only 2 ratios in LC series..both ratios 3.36 and 3.08 where homologated with the very first 200 xu-1 in 1970, no need to re-homologate again for the 300 CK xu-1s in 1971 as its all ready been done in 1970, as for Rockys claim the first 200 CK cars where 3.36 is also another false claim as thats not the case as there where 3.08 ratios in first 200 as well thus being not identical at all..its all to see if he was good enough to fact check with vin disc before he quoted the 200 identical units....

Edit. I'm sorry, but I had to come back. Nothing makes me laugh more than illiterate clowns like you claiming to know...well....stuff. It was advertised in the Trading Post. I kept the ad.
