My take on post 147 is the same as Rockoz. 50% of 200 cars 100+ cars each with the two different gearboxes. And agree with Rob again. there is no mention of Australian 300 & 400. So that part has nothing to do with post 147. You can see on the GTHO post I put up.(Post 140) Phase 1. 260 cars. Phase 1.5 115 cars (more than 50% rule met.) Phase 2. 287 cars . But again no Mention of Australian 300 & 400.

IanC, by adding the 115 1970 GT HO phase 1.5 with the 287 1970 GT HO phase 2, you get 402. 200 for the 2 gearbox,s & 200 for the 2 diffs……
You are 100% correct, the 115 1970 GT HO,s did allow the homologation but it was the 287 1970 GT HO,s which completed the homologation process for 1970 prior to Ford building their 300 1971 GT HO phase 3,s……

Does anyone know why Holden homologated the 3.36 & 3.08 diff ratios in 1970 & 1971 ?
and have you finished your CK Pap ?

How many cars did it take to homologate the optional 3.08 diff on the 1971 CK ?

I tend to glaze over at this stuff a bit.....but the fact that a company "made" 100, 200, 300 , 400 seems to be unconnected to anything?.
If CAMS or whoever said they needed to make a certain number to qualify them as legitimate to race, then that is fine...but are people suggesting that the number reqd by CAMS always equals the number sold?

1971 GT HO Phase III ( 300 )
1970 GTR XU-1 8/70 ( 400 ) 9/70 & 10/70 ( 300 )
1971 GTR XU-1 3100X ( 400 ) CK ( 300 )
1971 E38 ( 317 )
All to do with motor racing & the numbers required….
The L34 ( 263 ) & the A9X ( 259 ) with 3.08 ( 50% )
All to do with motor racing
even the original 5000 1969 & 1970 LC GTR’s…..

In August production was upped with a further 380 ( 8/70 ) XU-1’s being produced, bringing the total to 400.
To be eligible to race, Holden were required to build a minimum of 200 basically identical cars. The first 200 cars also allowed the homologation of the opal 4 speed gearbox ( 100 ) & the 3.36 diff ratio ( 100 ).

Did you know Ian, that the first 100 LJ XU-1’s produced in August 1972 had nibless rims ?

Fly Again. I honestly have no idea how many LC -K Toranas were produced. I have always been told 200 72 bathurst series toranas were built, and 150 special 73's were built.
