Look at Vin disc Gap on numbers

What has the date on the service letter got to do with it?
The above Dealer Service Letter was issued after the changes had commenced in production.
Bat 53's LC GTR is complianced 6/71 but was completed in 7/71. It has the original reverse switch wiring hole in the tunnel in the revised position to suit the Aussie 4spd and his GTR came also with it's original correct date coded Aussie M20 4spd and prop shaft.

with date of my car , i would think that it would be up front somewere,
it also has the modified opel consul ,
my understanding is Dan's car came with the opel consul

Whilst now sold some years back (Duchess Gold Metallic - a rare colour in its own right), my Adelaide built 161S GTR from Adelaide had an Aussie 4 Speed box.
Build date was 26.6.71.
From my research, the first of the 173S (with Aussie 4 Speed) came out 5 days later.
A case of fit what was on the shelf?
