Maybe test a heat gun on a bit a see if it'll just wrap itself around with gravity.
I think what you have will be fine.

Borrowed a heat gun...
Heating it up, taking care not to melt it.
But even though it gets hot and somewhat flexible, probly not quite hot enough to form it across its width, a bit worried of getting it too hot and stuffing it.
So just going to refit as is.
Let time and the joy of driving form its shape to the coil.
