Used to refer to them as 10 bolt Salibury pre 1978 but the smaller centre is 10 bolt also by that photo. I picked up a UC one a couple of years ago for a mate to put in his FB. He is convinced they are stronger.

10 bolt refers to the number of bolts on the crownwheel inside, not the cover.

I can't see how they are much stronger except for the fact it'd most likely be a fine spline. The crown wheel and pinion are still supported by the same bearings in a cast iron housing. You'd imagine in a light car like an FB a fine spline banjo (or disguised banjo) would be good enough with just about any Holden 6 you would put in there. Sure you could still break it but should do the job. Especially if it was a nodular iron banjo centre (V8 casing) rather than the old grey iron casing.

Holden referred to them as "Large Salisbury" & "Small Salisbury" respectively.

Dr Terry is correct of course. I think the 10-bolt name started in HK-HG where they had Banjo or Salisbury plus the heavy duty Salisbury (12 bolt) but I guess people knew the Salisbury by their US name where they used 10 bolt or 12 bolt monikers. And the names continued into HQ even though the Salisbury was a different design to the imported centre HK-HG. For whatever reason (cost most likely) GMH moved to the cast "banjo" or small Salisbury in UC. Why wait until UC if it was a cheaper way to do it??? Who knows what they intended for VA, WA etc.

What also doesn't make sense in this whole mish-mash of diffs in the 70's is why the LH-LX used a totally different upper arm location to the Holden and Statesman? Are the LC-LJ upper arm mounts in the same location as LH-LX?

I have spun the hemispheres in a coarse spline LSD banjo, which forces the carrier arms apart, rendering removal fraught. Broken spider gears, no axles. Both behind a mild 192. But yes if you were sensible.
