Anyone have a picture of the spring arrangement between the seat back foam and the back plastic cover? Mine are missing.

Bump.

Maybe just a description? I know it mounts to 4 points on the back of the steel frame.

Definitely springs ?

Ran into this problem a while ago i just ran wires

One side plastic popped out because of the pressure put on by my back

I would think springs wouldn't make much difference

I don't know what was supposed to be there

Hi Glen. I'm not sure if there is a difference between seats with the plastic cover back and the vinyl covered back. Mine is plastic back (LX hatch) and there is no springs. I can see where there could be provision for springs and maybe that is where the vinyl backed ones differ but I don't know. I believe mine were untouched before I pulled them apart and there is no marking on the back of the foam to suggest springs were up against it.  Can get a pic if you like. I would now like to know if there were springs as I am considering putting the vinyl covered backing on mine. Also would be interested to know how that is fixed to the frame.  Cheers Ron

Interesting, just had mine recovered and the upholsterer said there should be springs of some sort. Probably the zigzag sort. There are 4 points on the frame for something to mount to. If I push back on the foam it pushes into the plastic back cover pretty easily, so not ideal. I may just make some straps to go across to stop this. Cheers.

Spoke to a trimmer today and he said if i want the plastic backs they add a net to the back of the foam to stop it hitting the plastic . He said they had nothing there originally
