Hi guy's, can anyone tell me if the early Holden v8's with the oil filler tube in the timing case used a different breather (filler) cap from the bayonet style as used in red 6's & hq ect ? I thought that they were the same.

I'm pretty sure they were the same. I owned a HG Brougham with the Holden 308/trimatic

This just reminded me that I had one of these caps on an auger, and I forget to remove it before the clearing sale. The cap looked the same from the top, with the same filter / breather arrangement, but underneath it had to bent bits of spring steel that gripped the inside of the tube it slid into.

That's the one Paul.
Tell him he's dreaming, only worth half what he is asking cause it's got a little dent in it.
