I think I've found the cause of my torquesteer problem

I admit,these are the best part of 20 years old,
but should this be happening?
They've had a fairly easy life
(Vk commodore diff top trailing arms, by the way)

It's not the only nolathane stuff I have that
is like it, either

Normal for Nolathane (china) supplied 15-25ish years ago. May have improved since but i stayed away from them after my experiences (my car had old nolathane in when purchased, was good,I fitted new stuff way back then & was shit). They may have improved since (they f#@king had to) but i dont know. Last 15+ years i've used superpro as they were the only Australian made product at the time (this may have changed since but don't know).

Cheers Trevor, interesting stuff to know. They mustn't have put much r&d into the choice
of material, I am amazed to see it just crumbling apart with age and contact with air.
Is the purple coloured stuff superpro?
My old fc waiting patiently in the shed for years has them between the diff and leaf springs.
Not even driven on yet, there is a pile of red chunks on the floor there too.
Remembering back to the old magazine ads, they really spruiked up the amazing benefits
of "precise location of suspension components resulting in improved handling over rubber"

It sucked me in, I thought the idea sounded pretty good at the time

Like Gene said, and Brad and Col too, the rubber's pretty tough when in good nick
and now there's grey in my beard I don't want a hard ride either
There's a couple more fillings now to rattle out of my head, too

I'm still running original suspension rubbers in the spring pads and front crossmember mounts in my 1960 FB ute. Recently cleaned, inspected and found to be serviceable.

Hi Bruiser, they went shit pretty much when they moved production to China all those years ago. Over the years people complained with experiences like yours, new never driven & crumbled in the shed!

I hope they have fixed their recipe but i gave up on them.

Superpro now looks purple, they were blue when i got mine.

Rubber is definitely my choice these days for most things unless a track vehicle.

Get your self a Resto Country kit pretty sure they supply McKay rubbers in the package

Thanks, Gene but I just put in the links from the spare diff,
had rubber ones in those, no splits or cracks
or bits falling off
No more alarming left and right pulling with throttle now
