Hi Maz,

Yes bolt thread is 5/16" UNC, so there's a win   :spoton:

They're called "cap screws" in hex if you like. The Allen key is tool.

You reckon they would hold and not slip as they were listed as fender bolts..im starting to think maybe not..

I wondered that as well, but didn't say. Stainless steel bolts wouldn't be as strong as the original steel ones, so had me wondering whether you would be able to tighten them enough before breaking them: they look pretty though!

Yes you can tighten them, stainless binds on itself and usually only 316, if you use nickel coat anti sieze it doesn't anyway. Just use some internal shake proof washers & they won't come un done if you're concerned.

I would want the underside of those washers to be flat not stepped.

I seen that too Dave.i have some button heads here with flat washers.you reckon they would come loose dave if i dont use a spring washer.i thought of running a spring sandwiched between 2 flat washers as to not gouge the surface of the hinge hole.

If you are that worried about them coming lose then put some loctite on them.

The stainless are probably stronger than the factory bolts. The factory ones are not a high grade bolt.
