Hi Guys,

I am trying to identify if the diff housing that came in my 1974 LJ torana coupe is original.  The markings on the housing are as follows and shown in the images

  • 144592 TD stencilled on in white paint
  • 18A4D stamped on.

Any info you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Gavin

The housing is date coded 18A4 D = 18 January 1974 the 'D' is unknown.

Therefore, if your LJ was completed perhaps a week or more after the above date then it is most likely to be the original 3.08/2.78 housing for your car.

Hi S pack,

Thanks for the information. The date on my compliance plate is 1/74 so I guess its original.

Cheers!
