My Triton Ute needed timing belt change so thought I would drive GTR for a while, big mistake. Back in 70s my daily was a LC XU1 but after driving the GTR for a couple of days my body was stuffed from bouncing around trouble walking and pain. The roads are bit rough however I get less pain driving Triton 4wd. Also bloody kangaroo hit side of Torana in my driveway, fortunately no dents. It's a bugga getting old spoils all the fun.

I think that we take for granted how nicely most modern cars actually drive.

I personally think that driving these old cars is part of the attraction/addiction only understood by classic car owners, and you shouldn't compare them to the disposable toasters (metaphor) that we all drive as daily drivers which as you say are nice and comfortable/smooth and quiet and all the same colours (white/black & grey or variations of these three). My stress comes from the f....cking idiots on the road when you do drive the classics.

agree...it's a reality check to drive these old jiggers.

Spare a thought for those hardy souls doing that Around the Block for Brock thing at the moment.

6 ,7,8,900km a day, day in day out.

One of the cars with a JP block has thrown a rod today. A common fault with these engines.

Yes, can be a problem trying to reach 7000rpm too often but cruising around at 3000rpm on the highway not a common occurrence.
