Thought I would share something a little different. For anyone interested in metalwork / custom fabrication (think Peter Tommasini level) - then please take some time to have a look.

For the past 14 years, my neighbour up the road (Marcus) has been bringing to life a pretty incredible build. He started out with a 1948 truck that he hauled out of a paddock, then combined with 2 other similar vintage trucks, and finished with the driveline from a 2008 5.7 Hemi Jeep Grand Cherokee.

He's estimated at least 10,000 hours+ has gone into the project. The metal work and craftsmanship is next level. Serious, serious custom fab here. All done at home on a tiny budget in the garage.

The car recently got engineered and registered - and Marcus is happily clocking up street k's now. It's not yet painted (but how cool does it look raw anyway) - and the custom touches and updates continue.

Here's a quick overview below. I'll provide some links shortly for anyone interested to read about the entire journey. Marcus has gone into great detail - particularly around the techniques for the metal work....

It was recently featured in Hot Rodding International - and I've suggested that he should approach Street Machine - which he will do, but probably after paint.

Let me know what you think....

And for the hard-core detailed updates - there is an Ozrodders forum thread here - with all the detail and discussion from start to finish, but suspect you may need to join to see it.

The driveline and interior turn me off but that sheet metal work is absolutely incredible.

What a top class job. And what a legend! I am in awe.

A really complex job executed to perfection.

I don't know if I have ever said anything like this before about a car, but I would actually keep that un-painted, lol.

Awsome skills & dedication.

Not keen on modern interior but do understand retrotech style of build that was the trend when build started.

Liking the bare metal look too...reckon he he keep that look & rack up the miles untill bored of it.
