G'day forum members, just wondering if anyone can help me solve a bit of a mystery to me if possible please. Picked up a cheap second hand 161 over the weekend, as was chasing a spare LC/LJ Sump. On the rear of the cylinder head there is a "US PAT 5482 000" disc glued on plus stampings which as far as i can read (upside down: "GAS 48178 QC" and possible "5535" stamped over this reading the other way. Casting numbers on passenger side are: "H 7420109 HOLDEN K145+ 8" I cant find anything on googleweb for that patent number and why would it be a us patent number for aussie made engine. Have attached pics. Engine number is 2600H35833. As far as i can tell was not an LPG engine as was running a standard strommy last time was fired up. I presume "GAS" refers to US term for petrol??
Any help would be graetlly appreciated: Paul
