trying to work out where to cut a shifter hole in my LJ

I plan to use a LH type boot because thats what i have (post would take a month to get a LJ boot here )

In a LH/LX is the hole centred over the gearbox mount like in the picture ?

Not sure if this helps or not.

On my UC the hole is relatively central to the shifter, if anything the hole is slightly rearwards with the hole edge over the front two shifter bolts. The bolts can be a pain to get in and out at times without dropping the box a bit.

The rare spares shifter boot is not a great fit over the standard hole.

Thanks Steve

Slightly rearwards makes sense the way the boot is shaped

will have a go at it tomorrow

i ended up putting it a 220mm and slightly on the piss so it fitted the tunnel better

now to fix one of the previous owners work they did to fit a 3 speed shifter
