Aim is to turn it into base model asteroid silver ss replica...want interior & engine bay to be nice but outside to look like an old Brock that never got any love lol.

Will have scheels, momo & 15 inch aero's...got most of the correct parts although missing smaller essential pieces that make a Brock different to generic models.

Driveline is efi 304 4l60e 4.11 b/w diff

Off to the panelbeater...

328523963_1245687329697140_4726003640715

It's a good solid car especially for what people are trying to sell these days...does have normal rusty boot channels, boot floor & where it meets beaver.

Bought it off FROGU2 so long ago dont even know what year it was...iirc name was Greg who used to own tubbed green Lj with those number plates.

Cool. I had a white one of these that I got for free. Was a dead stock L31 M40 GU4 Executive just like that one but white, rust free. We pulled the engine out for a HQ tonner. It sat out the front for a while and some idiot broke into it and tried to start it! Ended up at a mates then on a farm and eventually scrapped. White with blue trim. No-one wanted it hence its demise.

Would rather another torrie or monaro but prices too crazy I wouldn't feel comfortable driving 100k-150k plus car.

Love a nice VK, will watch with interest. It’s worked out well that it never sold originally!

I gave two away when I moved last year. One was an ex pursuit with no motor, and the other was an an old project with a roll cage and Perkins brakes in it. It tore me up a little not being able to take them with me as I love the VK's, but I just didn't have the room for them any longer.

I would have given up on the car had it not been for nice dude who gave set of scheel seats from mexico escort...interior makes the car when it comes to Brocky replicas imho.

Still got a lot of smaller things to chase down for it to be correct but play waiting game for certain things to pop up on marketplace or word of mouth.

Hanging for new high consoles to be available & to get calais/brock/stato interior light also front door grab handles...silly little things that stand out to me.

If you seen what I've been offered for a good roller like this makes more sense to sell them off than actually build them....but we're not that smart or sensible lol

Offers hardly surprising, your silver car looks like a nice one, great starter. She’ll be real schmick
Sure ain’t any $200 ones around these parts any more either. Bits are pricey too.
I’m on the lookout for a speedo to buy without having to sell a kidney

I'd love something like that. I've had toranas all my life, but I wouldn't mind diving into the Commodore world... But only with a VK!

Split tubs? Have you widened the inner rear wheel arches?

Yep split tubs it easily fits 15x7 255/60 on sssl springs...wanted 255/60 tyre minimum one day might try 275/60 on wider custom rim but think tyre will rub on chassis rail under seat bolt section.

Hopefully most people won't pick all the mods unless stock car is there to compare it to...aim is modified but looks almost factory from outside unless you know what you're looking at.

This thing has gained 30-40mm in certain places...shock absorber moved over 20mm or so & tyre nearly touches panhard bracket also may need spring seat/bumpstop bracket trimmed but will only do that if it's needed.

The interior, dash and vacuum ventilation ac heat controls are just rubbish as far as I’m concerned. The drive line and brakes were the only good bits. Ok now stone me….

VK GroupA was the VK Holden with the good driveline and brakes Clay. Lots of good big valve 5.0L examples though in run of the mill VK.

The injected black six ain’t a bad thing. I’m not a fan of McPherson struts and panhard bar except maybe in a Pug 404, which had them in 1960.
