Got myslef a new Rare Spares gear shift lever console boot, do they just pull out of the console and push/clip back in ... any tricks?

Do you have to take the console out?

Found three screws at the front of the gearstick which hold the frame in, take them out, the frame/mounting slides forward and out.

Only thing is the replacement is 2-3 inches lnger the the one i have in there :(
