I'd recommend, and if you can afford it, to get your eleco to fit a dedicated 20A/30mA RCBO and put 2 x 15A outlets on it for you and use 4 or 6sqmm TPS. One for the hoist and another where you are likely to want to use an arc or Mig welder or plug other 15A device into. Like near the front of the shed so any visiting family members can plug their caravan into it for example. Even if your arc welder or mig is only a 10A device they still perform better on a 15A circuit as there is less voltage drop in the supply.

I did mine with a 15A pendant that hangs off a jack chain. At the top end is a 15A plug and a 15A outlet up high. I also added a few 10A pendants as well for power tools and the one at the front of the hoist for the battery charger for any car that is up on it.

I'll keep that in mind, I was thinking about a second 15amp in the other half of my shed as well.

Thanks

This is how I did a pair of pendant outlets at the rear of the hoist where the pump is. Rearmost is a 15A outlet. This is a 20A circuit with 1 x 15A and 2 x 10A outlets on it. The pump for the hoist is plugges into the 15A pendant. The 10A at the rear I used to use for the Hilux fridge but it's also useful for general power tools. When you have a 15A pendant hanging down like this near your hoist it is useful for 15A welding equipment when you are working under a car, as you just unplug the pump.

Here is the 10A one at the front for the battery charger:

After some deliberation and a recent chat to a friend who has recently had one installed, I committed to a 4.5t two post clear floor Tufflift. I just need to relocate 17 years accumulated domestic detritus. Thanks to 2.7m wall height and 25 deg pitch roof it should just fit at 3.88m tall. Mum has yet to be officially informed, though I did say I was planning to get one.

Hopefully it fits Clay. If it doesn't a standard (no clear floor) will fit and you just have to watch the car on it when you get up near to the roof.

Jolly jokers!

I will make it fit, don’t you worry about that, to paraphrase Joh.

Good to know Col.
