IMPORTANT UPDATE!

Clive Cams would like to advise that we have made the difficult decision to close our doors as of 30th June 2023, unless the business is sold prior.

After 56 years in the camshaft industry, Clive has decided that it is well and truly time to retire.

To ensure that all work can be completed by the end of June, we will not be accepting any new camshaft grinding work after Friday 10th March 2023.

Most cam followers, rockers and cam checks will still be accepted until roughly mid-June 2023.

If you have sent in any camshafts without instructions or have put any jobs on hold, please get in touch by phone or email ASAP to advise what you would like done to ensure it is completed before we close.

All work will need to be picked up or sent out by the end of June. If you require parts sent out to you, please contact us ASAP to arrange. Any parts that are not picked up by 30th June 2023 will be considered forfeited and will be dealt with as we see fit, unless prior arrangements are made.

We would like to thank all of our customers for their ongoing support over the last 22 years and wish you all the best in the future.

Top Work Clive Cams,

 for being one of the top companies do do cam work.

 

Not had work done by Clive Cams,

  but have read a lot about their performance feedback.

 

Sad to see a great company close it's doors,

 but hoping someone will take over the business / jigs etc. 

 and happy retirement. 

 

p.s. I wonder how many cams, Clive Cams made in the years of business?

 

p.s.s. With the newer cars not needing cams because of variable valve timing,

the market must be flooded with old skool cams, the reason to close doors.

The end of an era indeed.

 

I grew up not far away from Clive Cams. Heaps of the local engine builders loved him. My first 383 SBC cam was a Clive unit - and looking back it was the best cam I've ever had! It'll be a shame to see him go, but everyone deserves to retire!

Nup, He's got more work than he can poke a stick at- 12 week turn around if you're lucky atm.

 

He can't get workers, no one wants to work these days!

 

His daughter in law is the receptionist and she's pregnant and will need to leave soon too.

 

This has been in the pipeline for a little while, but he also lost his wife a few weeks back which has been a reminder that life is not forever. As he says "he's been grinding cams for 56 years" .

 

Hopefully all the gear won't be lost. He did all the Holden "special" grinds and still has the profiles (Maybe Ford too?)

 

It's a real shame but he is entitled to some retirement enjoyment.

Picked up a completed cam from Clive's today and he advised the business has been sold and will continue on.

 

Still not taking on new work until after take over on 1/7/2023, but at least there is succession and the business will continue.      

 

With Clive's wealth of knowledge and expertise hopefully he will still be lurking in the background, but he didn't give any indication of that happening- we can only hope.

Clive Cams was purchased/taken over by M & W Engine Services from Ballarat VIC.

 

Clive Cams ceased operation at the Ferntree Gully factory at the end of October, whereby it was immediately commenced to relocate the entire operation to the Engine Rebuilding Facility in Ballarat  (821B Howitt Street, Wendouree VIC 3355)  (03) 5339 5159

They hope to be back in operation in one/two weeks. The existing phone number/email address have also been retained for ease of contact.
