Anyone know if you can buy the spring anywhere. I can't seem to find any for sale. Any help would be appreciated. https://photos.app.g...f6BXcwBxFVTDCJ7

Hi Ian,

I did some investigating through some of the parts books, and the balance spring was not serviced separately for LC/J or later Torana's, but was for the HQ  and later series. In the HQ book 4 door models had the same spring front/rear/left/right, but 2 door have a different part number.

Rare Spares do a repair kit for LC/J ($60-00) but it doesn't include the spring your are after. No doubt you already know this.

They also do a repair kit for the HQ's> ($110-00!), doesn't include the spring either....

But they do do a complete replacement regulator for the HQ's on ($95-00 ?? that makes sense, muck around repairing your original or buy a complete new one

$15-00 cheaper- doh, it is Rare Spares. The complete units are good quality too, I have bought one for my HQ)

Don't know whether the spring would be the same between the 2 models but I guess it would be close and do the job if you get desperate.

Surely someone will have a shitty back door they can rat the spring out of for you.

Good luck,

JPXU1

The 4dr has the same window regulator as the 2dr.I haven’t looked at my back dr ones to see if they bolt up the same.if I had a good spare I’d just send it to you..

Unfortunately HQ front window regulator spring is not the same as LJ.

LJ on the left has one more coil than the HQ,J, X, Z, WB on the right.
