I was gonna go for the exact same electrics setup as you - no locks & boot release, fuel flap, bonnet etc. I had a similer backup plan as you guys with the external jump point. My mate was going to set me up with a special plug (I think it's called an Anderson plug?) and make me some jumper leads to go with it.
I decided against it, purely because my plans changed and I've walked away from the whole retro-tech thing and going back to old school.
Keep up the good work.

I don't know how long their paint jobs last but all that bog looks horrific to me and yes I do realise much of it is sanded back. Regardless of that it looks excessive to me.you ever watched Overhaulin or American hot rod.. I dont think I have ever seen a panel over there without bog in it...is there a torana under all that bog?
I am speaking of the cars on the TV shows and not Heaths.

Keep up the good work! You've "almost" inspired me to start working on my SL/R again... You've giving me some great (and most likely exspensive) ideas. I can't wait to see it in person one day...
Cheers,
Brett

When you put a 3.5kg tin of fibretough and two 4kg tins of bog into the cab of an International Acco T line like the beater at work does, THATS A LOT OF BOG!!.
Dont get me started on him with sikaflex.

toryman76, not I'm not bare metalling the car. I'm just bare metalling everything I repair, and everything I'm not sure about. If I bare metal a dint, I will still overlap the bog out past where the paint begins again (you can see that in lots of pics so it looks like there might be paint under the bog) but the edges of the bog all come out when you block it back, so don't worry about that, the bog still ends up meeting bare metal around the edges once it's fully sanded, and then I give it some coats of undercoat as that's better than nothing. I'm just afraid of the moisture in the air... but I know people who have had good results from similar repairs so I'll just hope for the best.
A friend of mine who used to be a member of these forums is spraying the car, 2k using my gun and my mate's compressor.
GML-31 and Herne rofl I agree, they use it in excess. Admittedly there is a reasonable quantity in my beaver panel though

Anyway I'm getting more experience fixing these doors that are covered in small shopping-trolley dints than I would if I was given a straight set (haha that doesn't mean I didn't try to get a straight set though!). And I think I'm close to finishing with bog work. It's not that hard... I think. I will see how well or poorly I did when we start coating the whole car in high fill.
Good stuff slr253, I'm sure it won't be too long until we meet and you will get a squiz at the beast. Hopefully in a better state than it is currently in.
LOL DJ is this the same dickhead?
