I can get a week off work with around a weeks notice :D.

And sorry guys, if the air fair was like $80 i would pay it myself. Real dodgy bottom class shit from here to melb is around $250 each way.

Oh well.

Cheers.

Why? He doesn't seem to be doing much, so the constant reminders should help him stay on track.

Maybe.

Protec, it's just what they had in the store. I found it difficult to locate specific paints because I had no idea who distributed them. So I just went to PaintMobile and that's what I left with.

Yeah for straight off the gun I am incredibly pleased. I thought you couldn't get gloss without buffing it with acrylic? lol I must be doing something wrong or right.

if my car ended up looking like that when i do mine i would be stoked as! is it the same brand for the high fill and undercoat you have used?

as for the gloss... if you get that on the body i wouldn't bother buffing or rubbing it back! :D

Now now remember they are only photos so there is much more that you can't see, it's far from perfect but still a nice confidence boost to have that off the gun. Admittedly I didn't prep it nearly as well as I should have (and I mean I didn't even filter the paint LOL). I guess it has worked pretty well haha

Undercoat is just PaintMobile special, but the high fill is something else and I'll get back to you on that one.

Ok guys, dont bar up to quick.

No matter what the paint is its very easy to get a shine over small curvy surfaces.

With Protec Acrylic, its not the greatest paint but not the worst.
Mix it to about 120% reducer for the first few coats till you cant see through it. If its a thin color then you might have to drop back to 100% (50/50).
Then when its all a uniform colour, start thinning it out. Go to 150% (75/25), and try to melt the paint in. If its a bit pealy when your done dont be afraid to spray it at 200% for a final glaze coat or two, or i have been known to spray strait acrylic thinners over a car back when i was spraying acrylic to bring it up a bit.

Just remember to put on lots of paint for cutting back later, and put an extra couple of coats on all the edges. But you should go around and do all these first anyway.

The smoother the finish off the gun the less buffing you need to do.

Cheers.

hope this helps....

Protec outlet is situated around the corner (kinda) from PaintMobile, and they sell their products at half the price of PaintMobile...

We found out the hard way with their epoxy.

For anyone using their products look them up.... maybe on Hammond Rd Dandy.
