Heath man, FFS dude!

A buildup will take a damn long time, end of story. Hell, how long have i been playing with my torana? As long as i've been in this house i'm slowly renovating. (over 3 yrs now)I've also got the panel van that i've had even longer, this year is 6 years on the pano!

Just keep at it, you will eventually get it finished the way you want it. Just don't rush it. Rome wasn't built in a day, or 20months for that matter. If you get this car done sometime in the next 4 mths, well dude, that's a good effort, a full rebuild in 2 yrs! Even if it takes you another 12mths, man, who really cares, as it will be how you want it. I mean sure it's disappointing not having it on the road to drive & drag race, but would you rather rush it & then keep pulling it off & on the road fixing up crap you shoulda done right the first time? :spoton:

I'm mega disappointed my pano & torana are not finished yet, but i'm sure i will get them done!

Now get back into that damn car!

Cheers

ToranaGuy

Just slap it back together and get it to the drag day, you can always pull it apart again to finish it off.
I've always enjoyed drivin em more n workin on em.

If I could race it with no side windows I would do it that way. But I can't see that being feasible...

Black plastic windows, duct taped in, Primer, mix matched rims, half running engine, sounds like a go mate.

Do what you have to do Heath,
Driving your own car will beat the heck out of spectating.

Yeah the idea of spectating isn't too great but I've had a long hard think about it and I'm sad to announce it will not make it

Still get to catch up with everyone which is important. My social skills are great in comparison to my automotive skills.

Just found out some more events happening over the next few months though, so I have plenty of unachievable deadlines I can make up to get me excited and then disapointed with myself again with.

I'm just gonna keep working at it and see how it comes out.

Well it isn't actually that I am lacking motivation, i'm just a bit annoyed it's taking so long, and that I keep on underestimating the time required to complete things. I am still enjoying working on it and will continue to do so. I am just gonna focus it on doing one section at a time and at least doing everything I am supposed to do (even if it isn't perfect - I will learn more about the processes), rather than rushing it and missing out on half of the methods and therefore quality. Besides, there are is a particular driving event that I am pretty interested in, considerably more interesting than thrashing my car in a straight line.

Green is on back of doors. I want to be able to start assembling the locking mechanisms into the doors and bolt them on the car by Monday, then I can finish off my high fill work etc through the next two weeks and should have it ready for the main lot of squirtage the weekend after the drag day... I think it's pretty close now, just a shame I couldn't be where I am now a month ago.

I've just been doing things slowly at my own pace now and am happy with how it's coming along, even though the final results aren't particularly good, I'm really happy that I'm doing it all myself.

And have come to the realisation that allowing anyone else to paint my car for me would be getting rid of the fun part!
