I know that, but the school internet doesn't like MySpace... so everytime someone has posted a MySpace link or picture here, my internet goes spaz for a while...

Just because it takes a long time to shrink doesn't mean it isn't the bomb. I am very glad I used it.

As you will be for a year or so :tease:

I used spray putty on a door on a hq I did up once. 12 months later that door went all wrinkly and looked shocking. I wouldn't sell the shit to my worst enemy.

Well then I will learn the hard way. If it f*cks up my work then I won't be such an advocate for it. Until then...

A decent 2k High fill primer is way better.

I rather like Protec EX-408. Its a zink phospherate based industrial primer, but it is rust inhibiting and thinned ~ 25-30% it can build up easily as quickly as spray putty. Fills anything. Not really a car primer but works well and sticks like shit to a blanket to.

And after a couple of days drying it WILL NOT SHRINK. Use a bit of U-POL Hot Shot blade putty (2k spot putty) to fill the bits that the primer wont and your sailing.

Cheers.

Most people use spray putty as its easy and hides small imperfications.

Anyway its coming along nicely Heath and a hell of alot quicker then mine.

Hi-fill works in much the same way and can be put on thick enough to do the same thing as spray putty,

Yeh that hi build primer works really well. When i started out i wasn't laying the primer on thick enough and i was using rattle can spray putty and had problems with it. Towards the end i started started laying on the primer really thick and i had no need for the putty and it worked a treat. I'm going to have another crack at my car in a year or so and i reckon knowing what i know now i'll be able to get it to come up good.

Heath mate, you've got to try different things and see what works and what doesn't. What i found with painting is everyone you talk to has conflicting ideas of whats best and everything has 20 different names which confuses the hell out of you. I reckon try different things and see what works best for you.

Cheers
Marty

Cheers

WWWooowwww, it seems progress (or at least updates) on this thread have been very very slow indeed, this had fallen back to page three!!!!

So i took the liberty to study this thread and some things heath had told me of his plan, and i did a chop to inspire him. I think this is fairly accurate of what were gonna end up with.

It has:
Spearmint tulip green.
Blackouts
80's graphix down the side
Self portrait on the bonnet
Chromed steelies

I think it suits Heathy boy to a T.
