Yep, top of the dash is just a matte black pressure pack (of Acrylic I think) from K&H
Bonnet, around windows, top of inside of doors etc is all a gloss 'Jet Black' Acrylic, and I think it's a PROTEC product. It's much cheaper than an actual colour that you get mixed up to match a paint code. I think 4L of it is like 1/3 or 1/4 of the cost of the Mint Julep version lol

I think they are both pretty nice products, although the matte black would obviously be better if I actually got a tin of it so I could mix it up and use it in a gun it rather than a pressure pack of somewhat questionable performance. But it is nice having a pressure pack on hand. I've pulled it out at least 25 times (better than mixing paint 25 times) to do little things like screws, bolts, little areas I freehand mask etc.

Back screen is in. Today I'm just continuing doing little things. Tomorrow I will benefitting from some assistance of friends and should be working on stuff that's a little more interesting and also a high priority. Found a little crack in the windscreen I was planning on using... Grrrr

i may get burnt for this, but that capri is f****** awsome,i never really liked them, but the eldrely lady down the road has a gt brown one, like it come off the show room floor.i am thinking seriously about trying to buy it off her.i know there is a price check thread, but while we are on the subject, what would the brown one be worth.i dont want to insult her,and at the same time i dont want to pay double.just what is a reasonable price.it is in excellent condition,no rust, good paint and looks like it has never spent a night in the cold.if any one shares a slight liking in the ford department like ido and is up on worth,it would be great to hear from you.

Damn straight it is ! :tease:
I cruised into the formal with Heath, and I was in the Capri.
It is 383 powered and was seen by some at the drag day earlier in the year.

I believe Lockie (the owner) picked it up for about 20k, but it is a modified drag car.

lol no that's a Carlton in both pictures

I don't think anyone can deny that Capris are pretty tough cars, but that one isn't actually nearly as it good as it looks in the pics. Its driveline is pretty mild and it's still quite an unsteady at full noise, so your creaming of pants may have been a bit premature.

You could get a neat Capri two door for less than an LX hatch of the same quality I think, but it won't even have a Crossflow let alone a Clevo, and it will have four studs on each wheel. lol

They need some considerable work to be an actual muscle car...

When I undertake a body resto on an old car I usually start on one panel at a time. As soon as I've got it right I either fit it back on the car or store it where it won't get damaged again. When you strip the whole car down & find it will need alot of work it can get a little overwhelming ie where do you start? At least doing one panel at a time you're not trying to rush every thing, the car more or less stays in one piece (which is alot easier when you don't have alot of storage space) & the end result will usually be better because you've taken your time rather than trying to do it all at once. Keep up the good work & all the best with your project.

Today was like 95% electronics. Re-did heaps of wiring, learnt lots, did lots that I am not going to disclose on the internet

Here's the only thing I took photos of, it's just the way I wired the central locking. Holes on the passenger side were a little oversized (five wires on driver's side, only two on passenger's but I forgot when I was drilling). Both sides are now properly assembled, neatened up, bound with electrical tape neatly and pretty much finished with.

Just don't park it near the chemist on Chapel St Prahran.
Your remote won't work.
It's like the Bermuda triangle down there for remote central locking.

Also, stay away from Albert Park Lake when they're setting up the F1 G.P.
The cyclone wire fencing is like a big radio antenna.

Both back doors have both windows in them lol

Just doing heaps of little things. Doing the most frustrating repair of my life on my dashboard lol. Getting the shits big time. Hopefully I can get my mate around again and finish up this electronics situation so I can install some of my dash

damn year 12, was hoping to have a beer and work on the torrie some time in the holidays but looks like revision seminars have killed that dream.
