Gonna go and get some more inspiration tonight at Knox but yeah exams start soon (last week of school atm) so i will barely work on it.
What I have done is put extractors on and some other things but yeah it's slow atm

Anyway, my manifold gasket was leaking pretty badly so I got my hands dirty.
$25 extractors:

Before sanding it all back and painting em, I removed the manufacturer's badge for a slightly cleaner look (funny how I'm anal with some things and so careless with others lol):

Pulled out the old starter, replaced with a smaller version (sounds a bit healthier too so win-win) so I can swap without pulling it all apart:

Slid em in

Bolted em up

Runs a heap better now but it's just out of a 3" flange atm so i would like to get a bit more exhaust on there soonish haha slightly too loud for the residential area I live in

whatd you use to sand the extractors back?
and whatd you use to paint them?
I'm going to do the same, mine are pacemakers but they are covered in surface rust.

I found painting them with just the normal heat proof stuff wasnt too crash hot, it lasted a while, but ended up flaking.
Whats left to do now?

Mick, I've got an alloy chrome rocker cover & side plates but I actually want a black KC one in the end. Don't know whether I will fit them or not yet...
lol oil cap has a weird threaded system through it with a nut on the top, maybe a home-made job (haven't pulled it apart), once again trying to make it look like it's mechanically untouched by me. Good question though
I just rust converted the bad rust, ground down a few ugly areas (bad welds etc), rubbed it back starting with 40 and ending like like 240 (I dunno I was pretty rough with it, doesn't really matter much as long as you get the surface kinda fresh), prepped them with thinners and laid a few coats of VHT Flameproof on em. Too easy
P.S. don't quote posts with pictures, you didn't even need to quote anything I said, it was obvious that you would be talking to me if you were asking about the work lol

That oil cap is not correct for RWC

Depends on what the car/engine had originally & what the current cap is - i'm sure Heath could find a cap off a holden 6 in a wreckers to get thru rwc if they hassel him about the cap!
Heath - Keep up the good work mate, your getting closer to being able to enjoy it.

Cheers
