Just put a new water pump on so far. Changing a few gaskets here and there; an oil leak and an exhaust leak, cleaning shit up, fitting the other inlet manifold & carb obviously.

I have heared of gas only setups using holley baseplates and doing away with the rest of the carb. when I worked in the carby shop we used to sell 4 barrel bases to the local lpg fitting joint every now and then. Im guessing thats what your up to heath?

Yeh, that would be what he is doing... You can use the baseplate on a Gas set-up for optimal performance from a Impco setup i think.

That makes sense. I was also curious as to why you had the holley Heath,
(seeing you openly criticised them like many others).

Yeah I'll throw some more info up when it's all put together, but in the meantime: it's an Impco 300A running down through a tallish, throat-like adapter (which Impco also produce) to the twin barrel Holley baseplate which you use as a throttle body. Goes onto a normal 350 Holley manifold which is also cheap and easy to get your hands on. Same throttle linkage/bracket as you would run with the Holley too. So if you purchase a car with a working 350 Holley and don't want to change the carb to anything else, throw away the bad parts of it and put it on gas!

300A's require a carby or a carby base plate, and i think the 425's do as well. Seen a lot of 425's on holley base plates.

Nice to see some progress Heath! Until the last couple of days the weather has been rather poor down here, well for painting anyway. I've been painting up the engine block & parts for my mighty boy, and it's been taking ages to dry between coats.

Don't worry heath, good weather is coming, you will get it painted this summer! At least you have been able to enjoy your car a bit! My Torry sits in the shed, i just don't have the time to work on it atm, too many other projects to finish, that will take much less time. Once a few of them are done i have room to work on the torry. :D

Cheers

He'll do it when he's ready.

Nothing you post here is going to change that.

Far out people, stop filling this already massive thread with crap.

I know this post isn't helping, but gee, someone had to say something.
