Today I picked up the car. Goes hard, sounds good, no flat spots etc does exactly what I wanted it to. Install is neat & well engineered. Fuel level guage now works spot-on. Filler is behind the number plate. Has a bigger air filter. I just took it up Mt Dandenong again with Mick & Brad and I'm very impressed. Gotta do some more suspension work now though lol.

Ohh and incase anyone missed it, how does $35 for 70 litres sound? hahahhaha maaaate I love it!

A few other things are now playing up but I'll sort it all out. Have a geeze

Now all you need to do is degrease the left side of the block! youve got all the pretty looking bits on one side and a dirty other side! :tease:

I might have missed it before in your 60 pages, but whats the motor thats in the car? Is it just a standardish 202?

Gas grind cam and high compression on the cards for the next one?

Does it go harder now, than it originally went with just petrol and the old carb?

lol mate it goes WAY harder, and I'm not even running that much advance because the points dizzy ain't all that much chop, and it's a low comp motor, but it's because it is tuned properly and it's a better setup that can flow a lot more, not because LPG gives you power because it doesn't necessarily.

The old system wasn't set up right and wasn't nearly as big in CFM, and it had the water-heated manifold. The difference in performance is unbelievable

But yeah in a short while I'll probably pull the motor out and clean it, paint it, install the bigger cam and a recurved HEI dizzy, gasleads, one range colder plugs and a YT head which will give it higher comp and let it take proper advantage of the induction setup and the fuel. I'm gonna crank up the advance a bit further as well which should be great, and it should sound a lot more sharp then as well

Chris, the motor is just a run of the mill 202 that came with the car, I had heaps of plans to go crazy with it but I'll save them for the other car. But I will do a few cheap bolt-ons and see what I can get out of it first, and if I blow it up it's no big drama

Nice work Heath!

Good to hear performance went up and fuel costs went down, don't get that too often : )

How much did it cost all up inc. tuning?

Did the government chuck in any for the conversion?

Part of the installation involves sticking a wide band up the arse and taking it for a drive & tuning it. It is set up perfectly and my Anthony wouldn't have let it leave his workshop unless he'd done exactly that.

I don't know how much a new A90 costs, or a 300A or whatever else. I think that kinda stuff is pretty expensive. I used a tank I got for free and Anthony tested it and fitted new valves and whatever, and the sender for the standard fuel guage so when you are inside my car there is not a single change apart from the choke cable which isn't connected to anything. The 300A mixer was also free, in perfect condition. You can get larger or smaller 300As and I guess they cost different amounts.

Government rebate is $1750 until half way through next year when it will be $1500. It is a rebate, not credit, so they haven't "chucked anything in" yet, but they will put money in my account later on.

Ohh and I prepped this old rusty rocker cover and gave it a squirt. I'll probably paint the motor this colour...

That rocker cover needs some pistriping and some wheels so you can take it rocker cover racing http://video.google....303338974334828

Im glad the car is coming together as planned.
Having a plan and sticking to it is the best way to get a project completed.
Top effort, and everything you learned on this car can only help you achieve greater things in the future.

Oh,and paint your motor.Posted Image

Good move with the gauge hookup, definitely a far neater look.
Is the colour on the rocker cover similar to what your thinking of for the racecar ?

Hi
Your car looks very good now.
Are you going to make a mount to fit the spare wheel or dont you carry one around.
