I'm not even taking my seats or doortrims or anything out

I don't have to do much with the inside, though. Just a bit at the bottom of the LH A pillar.

Matty I haven't even opened the bog or the fibreglass or anything yet. At the moment it's all just sanding, grinding and basic panel beating (except for some more complicated stuff that Rob has done). But I guess sanding is a kind of bodywork

You're invited round any time mate! hahaha free beer! and it won't be that f*cken Amsterdam sh!t either.

Good to see your keeping busy on what matters most,... an old Torry. Nice work mate. :spoton: Don't be imatient, it took me 3 weekends to prep and paint mine and there was no welding ane grinding involved.

Say, what are you talking about with the beer? I hope you don't mean Heineken. The Nederlands make some of the finest beers in the world and they're not generally cheap. German and Austrian beers are good too.
Having a dutch background yourself (I'm assuming from your surname) you should appreciate that??? hmmm

Cheers.

lol Rick, I do also (I'm aware we're both dutch lol), but you obviously haven't tasted "Amsterdam" beer. It is purely awful. No other word to describe it.

Looking good mate, don't you just love all those time consuming, sweaty, dirty, smelly mundane jobs like grind back welds and cleaning floor pans. Damn I don't miss it!!

Cheers,

definately not slagging Heiniken or any other premium beers such as that! Heiny's are one of my most favourable beers.

On topic, keep up the progress Heath!! :spoton: Your doing some things that i will be doing in the near future, and doing it brilliantly too, so learning from you is invaluable!!

lookin good heath... but you have had this about as long as iv had my uc!!!!!

when do you get ur licence?? hope it gets finished for when u can drive!!

open up a can of whoop-asss and finish this fu#ker!!.

there is nothing dodgy about doing things quick.

nothing wrong with using mild amounts of Bog if there is no rust behind it, and a clean sanded surface.

seems like alot of young drivers end up crashing there pride and joys and all there hard work is pointless.

good luck! cant wait to see this LX done! and complete! SOON!!

Wow Heath!

I can remember talking to you & rick at the torana meet a long while ago, it's nice to see some progress with your torry.

This w/e i'm hoping to start seam welding my engine bay. Isn't mig welding fun? I bought myself a mig for just enough under $600 to buy a slab of beer also, you can get reasonable mig's from Repco from time to time. If you can get the $$ to buy one, you will love it.

I've done some welding on my Torana, also my panel van, made some shelf brackets for the shed, built a trolley for a spare mighty boy engine, and have plenty of other jobs to do with it. I'd be lost without my mig!

Good on ya man, keep up the hard work, can't wait to see the end result!

Cheers

ToranaGuy

You built a troller for the mighty boy motor? It's light enough to pick up with one hand and small enough to put in a kitchen draw. Why do you need a troller for it? :tease:

All depends on money... I do wanna buy a MIG some time soon. But the yearly rental of gas bottles etc all adds up. I'll see.

I wanted a trolley so i can roll it under my bench in the shed and forget about it until some day when i may need it. Yep it's light, i put it into the trailer to bring home with a piece of seatbelt, all by myself. I need little things like that to make my shed neater so i can actually get some damn work done in there, instead of tripping over and climbing around $hit.

About the mig i was sugesting, it's gas or gasless. Comes with a little disposable gas bottle, but i reckon you could hookup a refillable small bottle to it, but i've not yet needed to weld with the gas bottle like a " real mig " as some may say. There are 2 or 3 differant types of gas you can purchase from Repco to suit the welding job your doing. Yes i have used a real mig before, my g/f dad has a really big 250 or so amp 3 phase mig and gas bottles that stand about 5ft tall.

Cheers

ToranaGuy
