Heath, im sooo sorry i didn't get around on the weekend mate. The tattoo artist took WAY longer than expected and was quite upset about that as it cost me abit more than what was agreed too. I'll definetely make it up to you shortly, bring some beer, the hg, ladies and a smile haha.

A few hours of labour is adequate labour for my stolen doors (replaced the driver's, still need to the find the passenger one) :P

I'll provide beer as long as I get a decent ride in the HG as well :spoton:

^ hahah well what can I say? I am still the forum's little smartarse, even if my title has changed :P

Yeah those stripes don't look too bad do they? I'd consider putting them back on there but I'm not sure how well it will go with the black and green combo. I'd probably change to a different more bluey colour though, Aquarias would be a little too subtle IMO.

Thanks Sean; that's right. And Ryan, Sean #2 and Matt lol you're just jealous that you didn't think of it when you did your Torries :P

CBF waiting for the pics to load, but are you removing the handles too?? or jus tthe locks. as im fairly sure to use solenoids only is illegal as there needs to be someway of acessing the car in case of an accident.

UGH hell no it looks rank! Maybe on a racing car with fibreglass skins only or something.

haha yeah Dan, Rob has been awesomely generous in letting me work on the Commodore heaps and then helping me with my project. When you get the mig out, it all becomes achievable. And it's a really good feeling having done all the welding now :)

Yeah I hate you two... :tease:

you do realise that all the extra electronics are gonna have a big current draw man, what size alternator are you putting in to handle it all?????, do you have an emergency way of getting into you car when your electronics fail, coz they all do.
for example, fire in your engine bay, killing all the wireing, how you suppose to get into your car with your locks dissabled???

A Torana is still not hard to break into. I will have a backup procedure which I'm obviously not gonna discuss on a public forum, but yes there are still risks involved. The point is, it's a deterrant, it looks heaps better and it's a bit different.

BTW I just bought an LH door from V_SLR5000_P so all I've gotta do now is pickup a nosecone and all my panels will be sorted. :)

Let's hope it's warm(ish) tomorrow so I can work comfortably outside.

I also re organized the whole shed yesterday and I've got a few more bits in there now and lotsa room to work (well as much room as you can have in a tiny garden shed) so I'm pretty happy with my efforts.

I was gonna weld my locks up too Heath but didn't in the end. I have other ideas to do to the doors to make the tory anti-theft. If I succeed i'll write up a how to guide on here.

But my tory isnt gonna be a daily anymore so Im not that worried about it being flogged now. It will either be at my house out the back or I will be in the drivers seat :P

I have just purchased a Central locking kit and remote entry for my hatch - should be here any day.

I also grabbed a pair of these incase the dreaded flat battery occurs.

http://store.summitr...15&autoview=sku

Not that I have immediate plans to weld up the door locks but I will do it when the time comes.

I have been thinking about how to mount the hatch solenoid because it would be nice to have it hidden. Looking at my mates 300ZX, the latch is on the body and the metal loop is on the hatch (the other way round to how the Torana is) I am going to try to do a swap over to make it look neater and cleaner and keep the wiring simpler.

I checked out all the local options for solenoids and central locking and wasn't impressed so I have ordered mine in from the US.
