Nice, different. I'd add this to a top 10 despite the painted bars and the missing stainless.

Love the flood of contenders that have been shared. Some absolutely superb posts. And heaps of killer cars I'd missed...

Totally forgot the John Bowe / Gary O'Brien TCM car.... reminds me of a great evening at Rare Spares...

I'd like to acknowledge MictheAussie's Top 10 in particular - damn that's a sharp list. And double damn - CRUZLC - haven't seen that beauty in a long time, that's a very hard colour to beat;

I actually had Glenn's Ultra Blue A9X sedan on my original tentative list too - not entirely sure why I pulled it.... as there was something truly special about that thing. The rim/tyre sizes and offsets, colour combo, cage, engine, noise... I too have very fond memories from some of those cruises and shows with Glenn...

Ahhhhhh.... here you go Heath - the infamous sidepipe and fatties! Never has there been a tougher looking rear end of an LH/LX...

Andrew's post of the Anaconda car is interesting too - there's a lot of interesting stuff on that car. Always going to be a very polarising build... but points for effort!

How about this one for a serious show scene contender - I definitely rate the build quality here:

Laurie - now this is pure gold. Bring back the 80's! Can't beat these old photos, thanks for sharing! Very good.

After some deep soul searching, some tough decisions have been made.

Heath and GMPWR are officially in, at the cost of TUFF73 and STEVO. With that guilt off my shoulders, hopefully I start sleeping again.

Here's my updated view below - Top 10 is the big photos, with some notable additions as the smaller photos. This exercise turned into a poster, so I had to pop my own car in there so I can print it out for the garage wall.

Adding a few more to the list. First, a short video entry for TUFA9X (so much better with sound but you'd be crazy to drive that on the street these days!)...

And a couple of entries from the ACT Holden Day a few years ago, a very nice "A9X" sedan...

And an absolutely stunning hatch in black (there was nothing that topped a black Torana Hatch back in the day)...

They are 3 stunners, damn my wish list is growing. Would love to know the rim/tyre size specs of that white sedan if anyone knows.

I actually built that black hatchback myself. All 1,000 pieces of it :)

I'd need to figure out which memory card those photos are on, I may have a close-up of the wheels/tyres?

I would've taken hundreds of photos on the day that never made it onto the PC (don't you just love digital SLR cameras).

Reminds me of a mate that did this to an LX hatch around 1990. 253 and hilux chassis. Did the big lap in it.

Because somebody said you can't put your own car in the top ten, here's Heath's old 4 door.

I'm still toying with doing this to the last HK Monaro I have. I have to use it for a few body bits for my GTS327 but that doesn't matter as it's only a Monaro. Its floor is all buggered where some idiot put an Aussie 4spd in it, so I could stitch in a floor out of a Hilux or Patrol to accommodate a 4L80E and transfer case out of a Suburban. Use a GQ-GU chassis and leave it all ugly and patina. Also thought of something similar but leaving it as a car, make it all new underneath and inside with BBC and Muncie but all ugly and red-lead plus patina paint outside.

In no particular order, and keeping in mind that I've actually spent only very very little time around functioning Toranas, so this is all based on what I've seen in pictures.

LITRE8, obviously
The Beast
Mark Sanders' LH
Heath's Shitbird
RDP08, before the turbos
Saggy Sarah
Any Torana sports sedan etc running Mawers...
Broads' LC GTR
GTR355, maroon LJ with a Group A engine

And I won't list my own LJ, but I will mention a Purr Pull LJ that was in Extreme Holdens back in the day... LS, big brakes, big wheels, apparently used to swap between auto and manual depending on where it was racing...
