G'day All,
I thought it was time to add my project to the others on this forum and thank the members for all the info and help.
Posted Image
The car has all matching numbers, original paint and needs very little work.
Since this photo I've had the rims / diff / trailing arms blasted and painted
and the diff centre is in the shop now. On the weekend all will be installed with
new springs, bushes & shocks.
I will keep adding photos as I go now I know how to
Thanks ~ Peter

thanks peter ,,it would look good in the sun .. hint' more photos :D out side would be good when its back together . sounds like your going about it right by
doing the under side / drive line rebuild . if the paints good then leave it alone.
its good to see that some one looked after it .

G'day All,
The diff has been installed and the front is in the process of getting the same treatment. The original motor will be mothballed and a fun motor is being built at the moment :D

My great uncle had a sunburst GTR LJ. He was 66yo when he bought it new. I will watch this one with interest.

G'day David,
You must be the guy that found the broadsheet under the rear seat?
Its in safe hands in fact the wife wants to know why the Impreza lives outside and the Torana lives garaged under a cover.
Do you have any info on the car?
Cheers ~ Peter

There has been steady progress
Posted Image
the engine bay has been stripped and a temporary battery tray is going in. The original was unpicked to allow for the webers.
Posted Image
The whole lot is being hit with POR-15 then chassicoat.
Posted Image
There was rust around the lower front windows so a donor shell was purchased for the repair
Posted Image
The crossmember has been blasted coated with new everything. The headlight and tail light surrounds are being re anodised and polished. bumpers are being organised now, and my trim just arrived from Eastern Auto Upholstery
Im just plugging away from the bottom to the top
Cheers ~ Peter

Glad to see it again. Excellent work.

More progress :D back from the chromer/anodiser/zinc plater

So far I have managed to collect:
Gtr swaybar (which was missing from the car when I got it)
The proper dash from previous owner (72 dash was fitted because 1 gauge was broken in the original)
Correct front seatbelts & correct trim.
I hope to have it on the road for next years Toranafest.

Hi Herne.......I read all the earlier posts on the car and all the ??? had simple explanations. But I think it helped me get the car for a good price :spoton:
