G’day Clay
Glad to see you’re cracking along with your new dizzy
Does it seem to be an improvement over all the other ones you tried?
Pinging gone? Nicer to drive? More power?
If the new timing setup is close to optimal, the improved combustion
conditions might take care of the carbon buildup business

The mixture is spot on across the rev range as verified by dyno Geoff. The previous dissy was putting 24 degrees at 2000 rpm, so that is the reason I think it was pinging there.
Hi Bruce. Early days but seems good at the outset. Certainly the 12 degrees initial helps pickup below 1500rpm.

I gave it a decent squirt up old Willunga Hill this morning, and detected only a momentary ping when jabbing the pedal out of bends in second, holding around 2800-3000 part throttle in second, up a 4% grade, then plant it. There is a tendency for the inside wheel to break traction a bit here. I could back the initial timing off a degree or two, but I’m not bothered by it. Next tank I will run it right out and put in 20 litres or so of 91. I expect I will need to back it off then.
