I looked further. I reckon the case if off a G series, probably G53. They had a shifting arrangement bolted onto the side. It has had its tail housing changed to suit a traditional car.
Maybe talk to CRS and see if they can tell you what they are like.

I can’t tell if it’s multi fit or not, but it’s drilled for both patterns up the top.

Geez 4K for a BW second hand is a bit rich.
The W series supra boxes are good for about 300lbft of torque. They are very nice to drive compared to any of the Aussie or US boxes and fit in the LH/LX tunnel. There are multiple shifter options and most I have seen come up through the original shifter hole.

I wouldn't mind that diff myself, but sounds expensive to me. Edit. Rexy beat me to it.

New rotors drilled to HQ.
New billet axles.
New seals and bearings.
Refurbed calipers.
New Tru track type LSD.
Handbrake cables to suit Torana.
All that on top of the housing mods and the labour to set it up.

For that sort of money I would be buying a F**D 9 inch.

Whatever you buy make sure you get full details of who built it (as in who did the welding) and what the brake components are.

It was built by Final Drive who are pretty well regarded as experts here in WA.

I know this isn’t the way you are going, but if your car was an early LX it would have been a good package.

I am toying about with fitting a T5 behind the 308. I came across this on Market place.
https://www.facebook...62-449dbc786f07
Basically its out of a FG Falcon and is described as perfect working order. I have been speaking to the owner on messenger. Anyhow I know nothing about Fords. Is this the type of box that folk use for Torana's? I know that T5s out of a Holden V8 generally need to Mustang housing to fit. Will this also need a similar housing? Any comments greatly welcome :-)

Actually ...the guy selling this is full of shit. T5s weren't available in the FG. Waiting for more info from him LOL

FG's used the Tremec TR6060. Same box as the C7 Corvette and Dodge Challenger. It can handle a heap of torque, but might be a bit big to fit into a Torana tunnel? I'm sure there will be a thread on it in here somewhere.

Plenty of T56's, T56 Magnums, and TR6060's in Toranas, but yes, they need a tunnel.
And who needs 6 gears in a Torana, anyway? A grunty V8 in a ~1,400kg car just needs four ratios for driving and an overdrive for highway use.
Go with a TKX if you don't have much luck with second hand boxes. Certainly a 6cyl Falcon T5 was the go but I don't know if they're becoming less easy to find or anything...

How percentage of flattener went into the paint? It looks pretty well spot on.
