I'm still a power hungry maniac and still haven't grown up, however the Mrs. allowed me to purchase a new engine for one of the karts for my birthday and probably Christmas this year and next.

Stuff the carby's this one has EFI. Believe it or not its actually quicker than my shifter kart. Finished fitting the engine a few weeks ago but had a few teething problems on the first outing. Being a relatively new engine series and the only one of its type here nobody knows much about them in Australia so was on my own. The engine was shutting down after eight laps, finally traced it down to a bad connection in the wiring harness to computer. All fixed and going like a gen. Definitely gets the hart rate up. This thing really bits if your not on the ball. Bloody awesome ride.

Almost looks like the current Honda CRF MX motor.

Yeah Laurie I get that comment often. Its a Swiss Auto Halvenco 250 series. They make the same engine for use in Ultra light aircraft, snow ski and other applications. Not many of them in Australia and this one is currently the only one in Aus of its type. It has a different bore size to the previous model. They don't even list the actual CC of the engine yet and aren't telling us what the torque and HP figures are  but the previous model was rated at 40hp@13,000 rpm & 38nm torque @8,000 rpm
