It was Garry Willmington and Murray Carter that did the XD Homologation along with Phase Autos. It was them who got the base 3.3L, 3spd manual cars's 1367kg minimum weight homologated. Dick came later. The 351 manual XD was 1496kg. Dicks' first car was an ex-Highway patrol 351 manual car, it hit the rock in 1980. The replacement was effectively Ford's version of a GMP&A race LX or VB-VH.

Yes, I remember the Garry Wilmington XD when it first raced at Oran Park.

 

I believe it was the first XD racecar.
