I have a red 308 running an edelbrock 600.

Fuel pressure is 6.2 PSI and would like to get this down to 5 PSI.

What’s the best option for a fuel pressure regulator?

Why do you want to drop it, 6.2 should be ok.

Yeah, i ran a l34 pump kit on a mechanical pump on my 308 with edelbrock carb & manifold, never a drama, carburetor always ran well every time. Fault less i would actually say.

The car has been running super rich to the point that it’s putting black soot on my plugs.

I’m just trying to rule out anything that might be causing it to flood.

I’ve just rebuilt the carby so maybe I’ll try running it and see how it is.

I’ve just ordered all the parts for a regulator last night so that’ll happen either way, but might try and get it running without it for now if you think 6.2PSI is low enough.

Rubber tipped needle on the float shut-off.  Brass floats.  helped me solve a problem.

It will be viton, not rubber, but a synthetic polymer. Solved a flooding issue I had on the X2 strommies.
