You've sparked my interest Laurie. Maybe head over to Tamworth on the way.

You'll be right for Tamworth as the hairy armpit convention finished last Sunday, so accommodation and roads won't be so congested. I drove to Tamworth last Sunday heading north and the traffic heading south was crawling, held up by little camper vans and cars too small to be towing caravans. Plus monster Ram 3500's, F350's etc towing 5th wheeler horse floats. North was a breeze. They'd all gone by Tuesday morning too when I left for Brisbane, I hardy saw a car or truck until I hit Uralla and even then it was light until the outskirts of Brisbane.

They held a PETA convention in Tamworth?

Maybe they combined with the fringe attendees at the country music festival?
