Going more backwards at the moment but all for a good cause.
So I need to replace my fuel line and vapour separator to canister line and the only way I could see to do it properly was to remove the whole diff for access.
There are a lot of things I won't be doing to the car until after licencing as I don't want to waste time and money if it is not possible with the issues I have with it's identity, but the pipework really need to be addressed.
I can now easily tidy up the paint on the diff and trailing arms as well.
Once again the hoist made the job very easy.
Oh, also I have attached a picture showing what looks like an original screw in my RHS top trailing arm. What might this be for please?

I have a vague memory of seeing that screw years ago. Can't remember what it was for, but I think it held a clip to hold something in place like a cable or pipe. Possibly for a bucket seat UC Torana disc brake handbrake cable support? Or something like that.

I think there was a P clip or similar for the flexible brake hose on one of the upper trailing arms.

It holds like a P clamp for the rubber brake hose before it goes to the T piece for the hard line across the diff housing.
Perfect. Thanks hanra.

Thanks Brad,

Did you happen to take a photo of the bracket that the separator bolts to?

Got the diff back in after doing all of the fuel lines and a bit of a paint tidy up.
Pretty easy really with the aid of the hoist.
Now doing some interior work just for something different and to get the carpet ready so the gear shifter can come through the floor.
A bit of paint on the floor, some underlay and it's looking a lot better already.

Make sure you mount your seat runners directly to the metal floor.
Yes I have read this is the correct way to mount them mate. I can see cut marks where it has been done before.

Back seat in. I did the cheap TEMU sound deadener for now.
Starting to put things back together is getting me excited.

A bit further afield mate it is Port Hedland my home town for the first 47 years of my life.
Pictures were taken after a cyclone. I think they are from the 40's or 50's.

Another day on the interior and managed to achieve a couple of things.
Got the sun visors in, grab handles in, Fan box out and cleaned out, with the control cables lubed and sorted as one was a bit sticky.
Sorted some wiring and got the instruments wired up and sitting in the dash. I found two broken mount lugs on the dash facia that the instrument assembly mounts to before going into position so made some out of hard wood and epoxied them into place. Will be much better than the foam sponge supporting it as I found it.
Tomorrow I should have the whole dash done and fan box back in. (yeah, right)
Always fun. Always finding something new. (or F'd)

Bit of a milestone as the instruments, fanbox and dash are now all done.

Are you putting a stereo in it?
Nope. There is a radio cutout in the console but it will be blanked off for now. Maybe later.

Time for the engine to go back in.
Took me about one and a half hours but was taking it easy so not to F up.
Looks great with the gear stick through the floor. Definitely a milestone in putting it back together.

I need to pull the front end out of mine so I can install the motor the same way. The L34 headers are a pain to install once the motor is in.
