Everyone keeps telling me how easy it is. I've got one now so I can't wait to try it.

Finally got to weld up the rear guard cuts that the previous owners did.
Also stone guarded the inners. A bit more painting up front then put the flares back on, bolt a few things up then I'll be real close.
The engine is running sweet and I've have up to third gear back and forward up the street so that is awesome. Done 400 meters in it now LOL

Still a bit to do but ticking off the list.
New door locks in, lights in, carby plumbing all done and tuned, windscreen wipers now on, front panels all cleaned and treated and going on.
Big ticket items to complete are fill hole in bonnet and paint and paint and fit front scoop and spoiler.
I can just feel it now.

That nosecone is a rippa. Don't see many without rust these days.

Finally got to fit the front spoiler today.
I am very happy the fit is pretty awesome and after a final trim to shape and a paint job of Beacon Red it should look right at home.
The bumper in the pics is just sitting there and is hanging a bit so don't cuss me.
Final panel fit next ( mm here and there) and I now have some material to fill the hole in the bonnet under the scoop.

There are two small sections that sit behind the bumper but yes really good.
Best budget rebuild so far this decade!

Loving the progress and updates on this. you're doing an awesome job on it.
Looks like you got pretty lucky rust wise with this one.
Thanks Hawk, appreciate it.
As usual there is a bit of the dreaded rust here and there but nothing structural and nothing that can't wait till I hopefully get it licenced. Cheers

Lucky to have the time off between Easter and this ANZAC weekend so I got the bonnet patched, painted and on the car.
This inspired me to do the last list of jobs to the point where I was able to take it for a drive.
After finalising the front panels and bumper, interior kick plates and a couple of other small things I chucked 20lts in it, checked the tyre pressures and drove out the gate.
A quick lap around the block and then up one of our local winding back roads out the back then I was home again feeling pretty stoked to have actually driven it and how well it went.
I think, adjust the back brakes a bit tighter, Up the temp for the thermo fans and get a wheel alignment then I'll be off to licencing.
Then, if they approve the car with it's lack of numbers the real work starts LOL but not before some Cars N' Coffee runs.
Cheers.
